Onar, meaning “dream” in ancient Greek, is the definitive place to be isolated, to be introspective, and to bring serenity to the soul. A dream of self-knowledge, in Andros, in the beach of Achla. On September 2019, we had the unique experience of a special Yoga retreat in Greece there.
An island of the Cyclades that has the advantage of being incredibly close to Athens, with a beautiful beach of blue waters, that I consider to be the best beach of Greece, and 100 meters away, there are the flowing, clean waters of a small waterfall. If you are lucky, you can find yourself swimming with a swan in the beach. We met a family of swans, the mother, the father, and three children, and the father swan followed our every step, always behind us.
It’s a place full of messages and people who treat you like family. A place of great biodiversity listed in Natura 2000.
Homemade food from the masterful hands of the wise Mrs. Zeta, whose amazing moussakas and stuffed peppers create a feast for the senses in the hospitable area of the restaurant, under the plane trees.
We found ourselves in the company of Mr. Stelios in the nights, who had an amazing voice and a beautiful guitar. All those were offered generously, with love, in a warm environment, isolated but with all the comforts of a modern hotel.
Everyone is looking for a calm place, with a hospitable atmosphere and smiling people. When you love what you have created, and know the reason for having created it, the result is magical.
A place that has respect for nature and for humans, in a beautiful yurt, where we shared our practices. Moments full of values, different in hierarchy for everyone, with the management of our wants and of the stress of daily life.
We set a date for next year, because we felt the hospitality, we felt as if we were home, and most importantly, because this place has soul and a special energy.
But don’t spread that knowledge, because this heaven on earth is in Greece and we want to keep it as a well-kept secret.
Come closer… Our dream begins…
