Kythira can enchant even the most difficult visitor. This was our destination for the 3rd consecutive year for a unique Yoga Retreat.
Between the Aegean and the Ionian, the unique and lonely island of Kythira stands out as a small paradise.
Cythera may be a lyrical painting by the French painter Jean-Antoine Watteau, who in the 18th century depicted “Journey to Kythira” as an ode to love, creating winged Loves flying around couples in love, against the background of a spooky romantic horizon. It may be the memory from the movie with Dimitris Horn, when, impersonating the oppressed bank clerk (“We have one life”), he longed to make the same journey and experience love like the figures in the painting. Maybe Kythira is finally the lyrical island of Horn and Watteau… maybe something from me, from you, from all of us…
It looks like a painting. Wonderful colors, in complete harmony, creating an amazing result, which you can stare with your mouth open.
